Bio: I have lectured in Acupuncture, Remedial massage, Herbal therapy, and Dentistry Internationally and throughout Australia. I have also traveled extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, China, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Bali, The Cook Islands, and India. I have performed volunteer Veterinary work at the latter three locations. I have helped set up a charity vet clinic in Bodhgaya, the Bihar province in Northern India, where I have ongoing communication. This organisation became registered as Vets Beyond Borders and has now become Internationally recognised as one of the leading groups in animal welfare in third world countries. Previously, from 1983 to 1996 I established two mixed practices in the Gladstone area, running them simultaneously from 1992. My practices employed two veterinarians as well as ancillary staff. I maintained special personal interests in avian (wildlife, pet and ratite), dental (small animals) and general small animal medicine. The practice made regular rural visits. Politically held past positions include President of the Central Queensland (AVA) Australian Veterinary Association in 1990 and Secretary/Treasurer in 1989. I have been Newsletter Editor of the (AVDS) Australian Veterinary Dental Society, President of the Holistic Veterinary Association, Publicity Officer, Queensland Representative of the Holistic SIG of the AVA. Previous employment included RSPCA as a full time employee in Sydney, New Zealand locum work in Tauranga and Twizel, and various clincs in Qld,Townsville, and NSW. I founded an Integrative Vet Medicine Practice in 2010 called “Animal Wellness” which employs 2 other P/T vets, and several nursing staff. Hobbies and Interests: My children are beautiful adults with their own children- so I get to be a grandma to 3 amazing kids. I have developed some apps and websites to help new grads, parents and pet owners learn about Complementary and Integrative Veterinary Medicine (CAVM) including herbal therapies and acupuncture, research into CAVM, Veterinary Dentistry, and Veterinary further education. My holiday times include traveling, charity veterinary work in third world countries, art, snorkeling, scuba diving, pottery (wheel thrown), and photography. I teach an Animal Massage workshop that I have developed with Remedial Masseurs, Physiotherapists, Vet Technicians and Nurses which includes acupressure, pain relief and calming techniques. Many pet owners can now help their own families with these skills.
